DESCRIPTION:Modern telco operators increasingly require continuous active p
erformance monitoring across thousands or even tens of thousands of access
nodes. While TWAMP has become the de facto standard for active IP perform
ance measurements\, implementing it at carrier scale is far from trivial.\
n\nThis presentation explains how a carrier-scale TWAMP monitoring platfor
m can be built using commodity x86 servers together with DPDK-based usersp
ace packet processing that completely bypasses the Linux networking stack.
\n\nThe talk discusses the architectural decisions required to support mas
sive numbers of concurrent TWAMP sessions\, including packet processing\,
session scheduling\, timer management\, CPU affinity\, NUMA awareness and
resource optimization.\n\nReal benchmark results and operational experienc
e from large-scale deployments demonstrate the achievable scalability and
identify the practical limitations of this approach.\n\nAttendees will gai
n practical insight into designing highly scalable active monitoring syste
ms without relying on proprietary hardware appliances.
